Further Improvements

A new Dongle Update Wizard provides further guidance for a dongle update. This can be found in Help > Feedback > Dongle.

In addition to the currently used LPT dongle (parallel port) NeuroCheck 5.1 now also can be run with an USB dongle.

During start-up of NeuroCheck a new option is available in order to load the last edited check routine instead of the HTML intro page.

New feature in check function "Transfer Image" for reading a series of bitmap files: Holding down the SHIFT key during execution of the check function in manual mode instructs NeuroCheck to keep the current image instead of switching to the next bitmap file of the series. For instance, this is helpful for teaching a reference position in the positioning tools. Also the command Check Function > Previous will not switch bitmaps any longer which helps at the investigation of error images.

After execution of the check routine in automatic mode, you can read the statistics (result distribution and execution time) for each element of the check routine tree on the new property page "Performance" which can be found in the properties of the respective object.

For measuring the execution time, a new and more exact method is available on current versions of Windows. In the log file output, the output of the exact time stamp can be switched to absolute system time which allows to investigate synchronization between NeuroCheck and other processes on the system.

The status line displays a new icon next to the plug-in if creation of a global log file is activated. One glance shows if the logging is activated or not. A double-click on the icon immediately shows the software options for this feature.

The log file header will be better marked in order to improve readability.

Opening a check routine via drag&drop, NeuroCheck now also will verify the references to external files (like bitmaps, classifier, training data) and display a dialog for editing incorrect references if necessary.

The system dialog for picking a directory has been adapted to the new standard of the Microsoft guide lines and will be much faster now. In addition, better default settings and direct editing for the configuration of error images further reduce the number of mouse clicks.

The Adjust Cameras dialog, which allows to view the reference images, now immediately opens with a live image plus the marks set for the reference image.

In automatic mode, a warning will be displayed in the status line if system memory usage exceeds 90%.

A new check routine created with the Check Routine Wizard will not immediately be saved as new file but only be loaded as temporary file NCxxxTMP.chr in NeuroCheck. The check routine will be marked as "changed / not saved" so that the user obtains a warning before closing NeuroCheck.

A new command line parameter /RUNTIME has been introduced in order to simulate a Runtime Edition with a Premium or Professional Edition. This helps to investigate the functionality of the Runtime Edition.

The function CopyImageToClipboard in the OLE automation interface has been extended to support the transfer of color images, e.g. for displaying them in an OLE client.

A software trouble report form according to ISO 9001 will be created automatically with Help > Feedback > Bug Report.

The maximum file size the output file has been increased to 99.999 kByte.

The maximum number of bitmap files for output of error images or general bitmap output has been increased to 99.999. Furthermore, the base name now have a nearly arbitrary length.
